Ninjetta Kage here with another comic news article. I realized that Star Wars didn’t start as a comic, but they have them now, so it counts.

I wanted to talk about the Clone Wars animation. I heard Kevin Feige had said the storyline is canon. Honestly, I don’t know why George Lucas let him get away with that crap (unless it was after Disney had bought the rights) because there is no way it can be canon. The original 3 movies are the base for the entire Star Wars universe, so if something contradicts those movies, it can’t be canon.

So here’s my thing. In Star Wars: A New Hope, Obi-Wan Kenobi told Luke that Vader was a pupil of his until he turned to evil, which shows that he was still an apprentice when he turned dark. This is confirmed when Obi-Wan and Vader are fighting on the Death Star and Vader said “When I left you I was but the learner, now I am the Master”, which also shows that Vader was not a full-fledged Jedi when he turned Sith.

In the Clone Wars animation, Anakin is a full Jedi with an apprentice of his own. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Asoka TV series that is on Disney+, it’s just not canon. I would call the whole Clone Wars animation more of a what-if type thing, a fan fic.

That being said, the whole Star Wars universe has a lot of potential for great stories and offshoots. People just need to get straight on what follows the original story, and what is just made up for the fun of it.
